White Chocolate Martini

Drink - cocktail

Ingredients

1 1/2 ounces vanilla vodka

1 ounce white chocolate liqueur

1 ounce cream

Garnish: white chocolate shavings

Description

The white chocolatini—or white chocolate martini, if you prefer—is an outstanding dessert drink. It's similar to the chocolate martini, but instead of regular chocolate liqueur, it relies on a white chocolate liqueur. This recipe creates a rich, creamy cocktail with a beautiful mix of vanilla and white chocolate that you're sure to love.

Among the many chocolate-flavored cocktails, this one is a nice change. While dark and milk chocolates make fabulous drinks, the delicate flavor of white chocolate has its own appeal.

The softer flavor profile also makes the white chocolatini an excellent companion for a great variety of desserts. It pairs wonderfully with pumpkin pie, creme brulee, and fruit tarts, among others. You'll also find that it's a great drink to mix up for your holiday dinners.

Directions

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour the vodka, white chocolate liqueur, and cream.

Shake well—at least 30 seconds to fully incorporate the cream.

Strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass.

Garnish with white chocolate shavings.

Serve and enjoy!

Tips
You won't have any problems finding a vanilla vodka for this cocktail. It is a very popular flavored vodka and almost every one of the most popular brands produce a vanilla vodka.
If you'd like to make your own vanilla vodka, it is easy to do. A homemade vanilla infusion should take just 3 to 4 days and a single vanilla bean will flavor an entire bottle. This is a nice option if you enjoy DIY projects or have a favorite vodka that does not sell a vanilla option.
Darker chocolate liqueurs are more popular, but you should be able to find a few varieties of white chocolate liqueur. Godiva offers one of the best-known options and it is relatively easy to find. Other options include Mozart White Chocolate Vanilla Cream and Godet Belgian White Chocolate.

Recipe Variations
Try rimming your glass with a mix of cocoa and sugar or crushed graham crackers to create a pie-like cocktail.
It's also fun when a small bar of chocolate is dunked inside or with a Hershey's Kiss waiting in the bottom of the glass.
For a little contrast and to give it an autumn or winter touch, go with a cinnamon stick and dusting of nutmeg.

How Strong Is the White Chocolatini?
The white chocolatini is a delightfully mild cocktail. Much of that has to do with the cream and the fact that vanilla vodkas are often 35 percent ABV (70 proof) and most chocolate liqueurs are around 15 percent ABV (30 proof). On average, it will have an alcohol content around 16 percent ABV (32 proof), making it one of the lower-proof martinis you can mix up.
